Date of birth – 23 October 1992 Sunderland, County Durham
Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 5 April 2019 v Yorkshire (Trent Bridge)
Former Durham all-rounder Paul Coughlin joined Nottinghamshire ahead of the 2018 season after making 80 appearances for his native county across all three formats.
After graduating through the Durham academy he made an appearance for Northumberland in the Minor Counties Championship before being handed a first team debut in a three-day friendly against Australia A in 2012, scoring an unbeaten 29 and snaring Michael Klinger as his maiden first class wicket.
Coughlin’s development through the Durham ranks reached fruition when he was appointed captain of the Jets’ T20 side, skippering his home side in both matches against Notts.
The all-rounder was signed to bolster Nottinghamshire’s bowling ranks with his brisk right-arm medium-pace and with the ability to add useful runs to the lower middle order.
Coughlin's first two seasons with Notts were dogged by injury problems, but he was able to snare his maiden first-class wickets for the club at Scarborough in August 2019.
