Josh Tongue has earned his first call-up to England’s IT20 squad for both the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and a preceding three-match tour of Sri Lanka.

He is joined in both squads by Ben Duckett, who is additionally named in the squad for the three-match One Day International leg of the Sri Lanka tour.

The white-ball tour of Sri Lanka begins with the ODIs, which will all be hosted in Colombo, on 22 January, before the IT20s, all of which will be played in Kandy, follow on 30 January.

Sri Lanka is set to host the World Cup jointly with India, with the opening match between Netherlands and Pakistan in Colombo set for 7 February.

England’s tour party for the series departs for Sri Lanka on 18 January, before the side head to India for their opening match of the World Cup, set for 8 February against Nepal in Mumbai.

Additionally, there will be further Outlaws representation at the World Cup, with incoming overseas signing George Linde named in the South Africa squad.

The Proteas’ warm-up programme consists of three home IT20s against West Indies, before their first World Cup match, against Canada, takes place on 9 February in Ahmedabad.
